PESHAWAR: An earthquake of high intensity jolted parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Saturday but no causalities or property damages were reported.
According to geological wing of Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the tremours measuring 5.5 on Richter scale were felt in Malakand, Swat, Upper and Lower Dir and surroundings.
Residents of the areas where the quake was felt evacuated homes and buildings out of fear.
The epicentre of the quake stated to be the border area of Tajikistan at a depth of 144 kilometres.
There was no report of any casualty or damages from the areas jolted by the earthquake.
