ECP adjourns hearing of Ayesha Gulalai’s case till today

ISLAMABAD (Online): Election Commission of Pakistan has adjourned the hearing of case of PTI defying member NA, Ayesha Gulalai till today (Wednesday).

On Tuesday in Election Commission of Pakistan a five member bench headed by Chief Election Commissioner heard a case against PTI defying member Ayesha Gulalai pertaining to ineligibility reference filed by PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

Sikandar Bashir Mohmand Advocate represented PTI in Election Commission while Barrister Masroor Shah appeared on behalf of Ayesha Gulalai.

On this occasion PTI advocate giving argument told the commission that a reference under article 63 A has been filed. He said that Ayesha Gulalai has not been elected MNA directly but elected against the particular seats for women in KPK.

He added that she had resigned from the party membership and violated the party code of conduct during the election of Prime Minister. On August 1 Ayesha Gulalai resigned from the party membership. Later on the PTI has sent show cause notice to her on Peshawar and Islamabad addresses. He prayed to ECP to deseat Ayesha Gulalai.

Talking to media outside the office of ECP counsel for Gulalai Barrister Masroor Shah said that Imran Khan advocate has sought more time. Following the discussion on it, will take up important allegations. He said that Imran Khan and Jehangir Tareen have turned up for voting to their candidate.

He said this question of Chief Election Commissioner will impact on the decision. He said PTI is not a Private Limited Company of a man and Gulalai has not left the party but will play her due role in the party.
