ECP to announce verdict today in Ayesha Gulalai disqualification case

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is likely to announce verdict on Tuesday (today) MNA Ayesha Gulalai disqualification filed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

The five member bench in the chair of Chef Election Commissioner reserved the judgment in the case filed by the PTI against disgruntled MNA Gulalai.

Imran Khan, chief of PTI had filed reference against MNA Gulalai and demanded from the election commission of Pakistan to denotify her from the assembly seat.

In the last hearing, PTI lawyer, Sikandar Muhammad told the bench that MNA Ayesha Gulalai announced to leave the party now tacking back her statement and adding PTI leaving the party but not leaving the membership which is not possible as per the party constitution.

Barrister Masroor, lawyer of MNA Gulalai rejected the accusation on her and said that expressing the desire to leave party and resigning are not the same thing and adding that his client didn’t submitted any resignation to party.
