ECP concludes contempt of court cases after submitted written apology

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday accepted the PTI Chief Imran Khan apology after he submitted written apology before the bench.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) concluded contempt cases against the PTI Chairman Imran Khan after he submitted written apology before the ECP bench.

Imran Khan was accused of using harsh words and issuing contemptuous comments against the ECP in January and later in September this year

Babar Awan, counsel of Imran Khan presented arguments before the five-member ECP bench headed by Chief Election Commissioner Justice (retd) Sardar Raza Khan.

Babar Awan pleaded the bench to conclude the contempt of court cases against Imran Khan as he appeared before the ECP bench in respect of the institutions.

PTI Chief Imran Khan was directed to submit a written apology over his controversial comments against ECP and after consultation with legal team Imran submitted written apology for his comments.
