ISLAMABAD: While ignoring the late submission of the details of the by-election expenses by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Thursday issued the notification of his success in the by-polls held in seven constituencies.

The ECP issued the verdict reserved on December 20 last. Imran Khan had not submitted the details of the by-election expenses in time.

According to the ECP sources, Imran Khan had not submitted the details of the by-election expenses in NA-22, NA-24, NA-31, and NA-108.

He had not submitted the details of the election expenses in constituencies including NA-118, NA-239 and NA-45.

Meanwhile, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) conducted a hearing on Imran Khan’s miscellaneous plea for withdrawing the petition against his disqualification in Toshakhana case.

IHC Chief Justice Aamir Farooq heard the miscellaneous petition of Imran Khan and issued notices for January 25 next.

“We want to withdraw the petition,” Barrister Ali Zafar told the court.

“There are some objections from the other side. We will listen to them [too],” the IHC chief justice remarked.

“The hearing of the main case is on January 25. We will listen to those objections on that day,” he added and adjourned further hearing of the plea till January 25.
