ISLAMABAD: Election Commission has received letters from Sindh provincial government and police department. Both key stakeholders have leveled allegations on each other ahead of by-poll on Sindh assembly seat from Umerkot.
Sindh police chief Kaleem Imam requested ECP to remove Umerkot SP from his post to ensure transparency in an upcoming by-election on a provincial assembly seat in the district, the Sindh government on Monday approached the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to remove him from the post.
Earlier Sindh government headed to the election commission against the Inspector General of Police Dr Kaleem Imam, accusing him for disclosing government documents. Further on the provincial government rejected Kaleem Imam’s accusations and asked ECP to initiate an inquiry and remove IGP from his post.
