ECP reserves ruling on PTI’s intra-party elections

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan has reserved its decision regarding the intra-party elections of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

A four-member commission of the Election Commission headed by Nisar Durrani held a hearing on the issue of intra-party elections of Tehreek-e-Insaf. PTI’s lawyer Barrister Ali Gohar appeared in the Election Commission.

During the hearing, Barrister Ali Gohar said that Barrister Ali Zafar was busy in Islamabad High Court. He said Barrister Zafar would himself attend court hearing and advance arguments.

Later, the Election Commission reserved the decision regarding intra-party elections of Tehreek-e-Insaf.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had summoned the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) bigwigs for not conducting intra-party elections on August 4. Sources divulged that the electoral watchdog had sent a notice to the party for not holding the intra-party elections. The ECP had issued a notice in the name of the PTI chief. The ECP had summoned the PTI leadership at 10am on Friday.
