Efforts afoot to keep Torkham border open round the clock: Jhagra

LANDI KOTAL: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Finance, TaimurSaleemJhagra has said that they are in contact with all concerned departments including federal government for keeping Torkham border for 24 hours and making all-out efforts that in next three months the border will be opened for trade and transportation.

He expressed these views while talking to media during his visit to District Khyber. He was of the opinion that the responsibilities of the provincial government have been increased in wake of the merging of the erstwhile FATA in KP. Jhagra said it is welcoming that the people of the tribal region have been mainstreamed for the progress and development and now only their problems are being resolved rather they are also being provided full opportunities to make progress.

He further said that very soon elections for provision assembly and local bodies would be held in tribal districts under which the people of the region will not only get representation in provincial assembly and local governments rather will resolve their problems at their door steps
