Efforts are being made to uplift the standards of PIA: Mahtab

ISLAMABAD:  While appreciating the endeavors of the management of PIA, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Aviation Sardar Mahtab Ahmed Khan has said that all out efforts are being made to uplift the standards of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).

He expressed these views while chairing the hours long meeting to review the performance of PIA here at Aviation Division in Islamabad on Monday. Besides, Secretary Aviation and Chairman PIA, Irfan Ilahi, Chief Executive Officer, PIA, Musharraf Rasool, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Commercial Officer along with the heads of all esdepartments of PIA and other relevant officials of Aviation Division were also among the attendants. Adviser reviewed the working procedure and performance of each department indetail and asked the officials to perform their duties in an efficient and vigilant manner.

He said that we all should owe PIA as it is our national institution which needs our attention to retrieve its lost position. A detailed briefing was also given to the Adviser regarding the performance of each department.

The Adviser told that engineering department has rolled out seven 777 and four Airbus 320s aircrafts with new and refurbished interior.

Meeting was also briefed that state of the art inflight entertainment system with wifi and internet video streaming facilities will be made available in all PIA aircrafts. CEO PIA, Musharraf Rasool apprised the meeting that strict timelines have been set to achieve the desired results so that the passengers of PIA can enjoy the facilities that the best airlines of the world are offering.

It was also told that commercial departments targets and sales figures were revived positively.

In the meeting, different gaps in technology sector and rooms for improvements in PIA were also identified and it was decided to extend support in different sectors in general and technology in particular for ensuring international standards.

Mahtab declared the different reforms  as unavoidable step. He also lauded the recent initiatives for increased presence in the digital world. On board activities for customer engagements, getting accolades globally and performance of the brand management department of PIA  were also acknowledged.

The performance of the several departments icluding Corporate Planning, Procurement and Logistic, Passenger Handling Services, Flight Operation, Food Services Division, Corporate Development, KPIs and Finance Department. Appreciating the efforts of management, Sardar Mahtab recognized the fact that V1 program is on track successfully.

He further asserted that PIA is recuperating its position and it will be sustaining its status with dignity soon.Addressing the meeting, Mahtab said that advancement in technology is a dire need of the time, and we are committed to extend the technology and to furnish Pakistan International Airlines with latest equipment to serve our customers at large.

He assured that soon we are going to meet this milestone with the help of the efficient officers and staff. Adviser also emphasized on the fact that dedication and hard work of each employee will contribute towards the National Carrier turnaround.
