Eight alleged terrorists killed in Rangers, CTD operation in Karachi

KARACHI: At least eight alleged were killed in a joint operation conducted by Rangers and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Raees Goth area of Karachi on Saturday night.

Spokesman of CTD told media that five alleged terrorists were died on the spot while three others were injured however succumbed to injuries while on the way to hospital.

In the exchange of gunfire one CTD officer and two Rangers personnel were also injured.

Forces started search operation after the escape of some suspects from the area. Spokesman added that weapons and explosive materials, among other things, were recovered from the terrorists’ hideout, the spokesperson mentioned.

Meanwhile, a child was injured in Landhi area of Mansehra colony in Karachi during a random firing incident on Saturday night.

The cause of firing, however, remains unknown.
