Eight electricity stations erected in Panjshir

PANJSHIR (TOLOnews): The local officials of Panjshir announced the construction of eight electricity stations in the past six months in different areas of this province.
According to them, these stations were built by domestic and foreign institutions and organizations, and more than a thousand families have benefitted.
Officials made these statements at the opening ceremony of an electricity tower in Anaba district of Panjshir, which was built by a Turkish organization at the cost of one and a half million afghanis.
“Today we were the witness of the opening of this tower and since the Islamic Emirate came into power, this is the 8th tower that was open and it provides electricity from 800 to 1,000 families,” said Mohammad Agha Hakim, the Panjshir governor.
“It has a capacity of 100 kilowatt amps. Al-Falah Institute provides electricity for all the electrical systems, and it has charged approximately 1.5 million Afghanis, which is $18,000,” said Shariffullah, the head of a Turkish-Afghan institution.
Meanwhile, residents of Panjshir said that still most of the province does not have access to electricity.
“Light is one of the dimensions of development and progress because we can achieve many things easily,” Ezatullah told TOLOnews.
“We thank them for bringing us electricity, and they should pay more attention like this,” said Nyaz Mohammad, a resident.
According to officials, the work of the Parendah Panjshir dam project, which was started 16 years ago at a cost of $7.5 million US dollars and which would provide a capacity of four megawatts of electricity, is reportedly 97% finished and the remaining work is supposed to be resumed in the future.
