Eight PML-N lawmakers resign

LAHORE: Eight lawmakers belonging to the PML-N, including five MNAs and three MPAs, announced to quit the part and launch a movement for a separate province for Southern Punjab.

Addressing a press conference on Monday, MNA Khusro Bakhtiar said that their press conference is the announcement of creation of a new province.

“Punjab comprises of 52 percent of population,” he added.

He said that there were 14 provinces in India and now they had risen to 29.

Tahir said that a separate province should be created for to end backwardness in South Punjab.

Rana Qasim Noon, Tahir Iqbal, Tahir Bashir Cheema, Raza Hayat Hiraj, Sardar Ashiq Gopang and MPA Amir Talal Gopang also left the party.
