Eight policemen killed in North

KABUL: At least eight security force members, including six local police and two members of the Afghan police, were killed in a Taliban attack in Sholgara district in the northern Balkh province on late Monday night, the provincial police confirmed.

The incident occurred in Shaikh Ali village in Sholgara district when the security forces were patrolling the area and was targeted by a rocket attack by the Taliban, a spokesman for Balkh police, Adil Shah Adil, said. Adil said four police force members were wounded in the attack.

Taliban also suffered casualties in the attack, he said.

Taliban has not commented on the incident. (TOLOnews)
