Electoral Reforms Bill 2017 likely to be presented in NA today

ISLAMABAD: The Electoral Reforms Bill 2017 will likely to be presented in the National Assembly on Monday, which was passed from the senate last week.

The acceptance of the Electoral Reforms Bill 2017 from the National Assembly will pave way for Nawaz Sharif to lead the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawa (PML-N).

Nawaz Sahrif was disqualified in Panama case on July 28 and according to political parties’ order 2002, a disqualified MNA will npt hold any position in the party.

Electoral Reforms Bill 2017 will give the right to be part of a any political party apart from those in government service.

The bill also enables the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to scrutinize election expenses within 90 days, failing which election expenses submitted by a political party would be deemed to be correct.
