LAHORE (Online): Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif on Sunday said that some political elements have resorted to undemocratic means to impede ongoing development projects in the country by levelling baseless allegations.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Shahbaz said that these elements should have mercy on the masses by avoiding erecting hurdles in way of the progress.
“The nation cannot be forsaken at mercy of anti-progresssive elements as Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) has mandate to serve people as per their wishes,” Shahbaz opined.
He asserted that the nation could not be coerced into acceding to the unwarranted calls of sit-ins and protests. “The masses want to see a developed Pakistan,” he added. “A politician, expert in levelling baseless allegations, has broken all records of lying,” Shahbaz said without referring to any particular name of a politician.
He vowed serving the nation selflessly by stating: “We will live and die with the nation.” Previously, he said that defeated political elements were becoming an impediment in the way to progress for their lust for power.
“Such elements want to avenge their defeat by obstructing the progress but those creating instability in the country for their vested interest would face another defeat,” he added.
Shahbaz’s statement appeared at a time when the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday filed a reference case in the Lahore High Court seeking the disqualification of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
