Eliminating corruption and depositing public money is topmost priority of NAB

ISLAMABAD: Vowing to continue accountability of the corrupt till making the country corruption free, Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Justice Javed Iqbal has said that eliminating corruption and depositing public money in national exchequer is topmost priority of National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

Justice Mr. Javed Iqbal Chairman NAB has patiently listening the complaint of the people came from across the country and every complaint verifying in the light of law and evidence as priority is to eliminate corruption from the country.

He said NAB has not only deposited over Rs 298 billion by recovering from the corrupt but the NAB actions against the corrupt would continue without any discrimination till purging the country from corruption as it is our national duty.

It merits mentioning here that Justice Javed after assuming the responsibilities of chairman NAB had vowed listening people’s complaints in open Ketcheries on last Thursday of every month to maintain direct liaison with the aggrieved. Fulfilling his promise, Justice Javed listen the complaints very patiently and issue orders on spot to resolve the complainants as per law.

Moreover, on chairman’s directives, all DGs regional offices of NAB also hold such Khulli Ketcharies for listening and resolving people complaints. This helped improving people’s confidence upon NAB under the dynamic leadership of Honorable Justice Mr. Javed Iqbal, Chairman NAB’s efforts for elimination of corruption from the country.

Due to effective measures taken by the present management of NAB, today NAB has transformed as a vibrant institution against corruption elimination in last 13 months. This is also being acknowledged by various national and international institutions in their reports.

Chairman NAB has directed the concerned to computerize corruption complaint registration system, besides informing the complainant about current status of their complaints. Their complaints should also be taken to logical conclusion. He directed all officers/officials of NAB to patiently hear corruption complaints and respect the people. No laxity in this regard would be tolerated.
