Equal education opportunities for girls urged

TIMERGARA: Speakers at a function on Sunday urged upon communities to give equal opportunities to girls while educating their kids as according to them the time was rife to end women discrimination in backward areas of the country. They expressed this while addressing an opening ceremony of a private educational institution for girls at Shamshi Khan Talash.

The function was addressed by Timergara tehsil nazim Riaz Muhammad, JI tehsil emir Malik Sher Bahadar Khan, president private schools’ association Lower Dir Abdul Wadood and director of the institution Inamullah.

They said that private sector played a vital role in providing quality education and increasing literacy rate. They said the girls were kept deprived of their right to education in the past but now they could no more be ignored in this changing world. The speakers stressed upon the families’ heads to give equal opportunities to girls so that they could get standard education.
