Under Erdogan leadership difficult for Turkey to become a member of EU: German FM
BERLIN: German Foreign Minister, Sigmar Garbiel has said it is difficult for Turkey to become a member of the European Union as long as Tayyip Erdogan is leading the country as he was not serious in talking with the EU in this regard.
This he said while giving interview to popular newspapers and it will likely further inflame the relations between the two countries after Erdogan advised German Turks to boycott Germany’s main parties in coming election.
Gabriel said that it is quite clear that under the leadership of Erdogan, Turkey will never be a member of the EU and that is because the Turk government and Erdogan are going far away from everything for which Europe stand for.
EU leaders have shown concerned over the Erdogan operation against the rivals in the country before and after the military coup against his government last year in July.
