ANKARA: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that his government will teach America a lesson in next month’s elections.

According to international media, the Turkish president said that the American ambassador should be ashamed of meeting the opposition just prior to elections.

The above-mentioned statement by Tayyip Erdoğan came after the meeting of the US ambassador to Turkey, Jeff Flake, with the head of the opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP), Kemal Kilicdaroglu, in which he expressed his displeasure at the meeting.

Speaking at an event of the youth branch of his ally, the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), Erdogan slammed the meeting between US Ambassador to Turkey Jeff Flake and the opposition leader.

Erdogan said that the American ambassador went and met Mr. Kemal. He said that he should be ashamed and should have used common sense.
