Establishment of engineering varsity, Paeds hospital to be made possible in Swat: CM

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan has said that establishment of Engineering University Swat and children hospital would be made possible at Kanju Township in Swat adding that the required land will also be identified soon for the establishment of Women Engineering University Swat.

The Chief Minister directed the concerned authorities to work and negotiate with the local people to resolve the land issue efficiently further directing that a report regarding the matter should be submitted within two weeks.

The Chief Minister was presiding over a meeting regarding the establishment of Engineering University Swat, Paeds Hospital Swat and Women Engineering University in Swat District at Chief Minister House Peshawar.

The meeting was attended by MPA Sharafat Khan, Principal Secretary to CM Shahab Ali Shah, Secretary Local government, Secretary Higher Education, Commissioner Malakand, Deputy Commissioner Swat, PD Swat Development Authority, CEO Saidu Group of Teaching Hospital and other high rank officials.

The Chief Minister also directed Commissioner Malakand and Deputy Commissioner Swat to seek the consent of the local people for the resolution of land issue so that the inauguration of these projects would made possible in July this year.

He said that specialize Technical Education will be provided in these Engineering Universities. Chief Minister said that legislation for Swat District Development Authority and master plan for all these three projects will also be ensured.

The meeting was briefed in detail regarding establishment of Women Engineering University, Paeds Hospital and Engineering University in District Swat.

The meeting was also briefed about the acquired land with Swat Development Authority for the completion of these projects. The meeting was informed that the projects will be completed in two different phases.

The meeting was further informed that negotiations with the local peoples will be carried out to resolve the land issue for the establishment of these projects at District Swat.

It was further told that the concerned authorities are taking concrete steps to make the process of dialogue with the local population successful and to satisfy the people for the utilization of land for these projects.

The meeting was assured that the issue will be resolved very soon.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the concerns of the local people will be removed efficiently to fulfill the requirement of land for the aforesaid projects.

He said that the consent and prosperity of the local people will be given due weight-age in the completion of these projects. He said that developmental works will be carried out throughout the province including Swat District.
