JALALABAD: Unidentified armed men shot dead a former jihadi commander in Chaparhar district on Tuesday. Masked gunmen opened fire on a former jihadi commander and influential figure Malik Shukrullah while he was working in his fields in Guldara area, an eyewitness, Ghulam Sidiq told AIP. According to local residents, gunmen affiliated with Islamic State or Daesh killed him. Shukrullah was a commander of Hizb-e-Islami of Maulvi Muhammad Younis Khalis during jihad against the former Soviet Union troops in Afghanistan.
Currently, he did not possess any official job.
