Ex-president Zardari says they believe in army promotion system as all 3-star generals equal

KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) President Asif Ali Zardari Friday said they strongly believe in the promotion system in Pakistan Army.

According to reports, former President Asif Ali Zardari said in a statement issued here on Friday that as per law, the Army Chief will be appointed by the Prime Minister.

Former President Zardari said all three-star generals are equal and fully qualified to head the Army. He said the issue of appointing the Army Chief should not be political in any case.

PPPP President Asif Ali Zardari said politicalizing the matter of appointment of the Army Chief will harm the institution.
