Ex-VC supposed to be in jail for dishonesty: CJ remarked

PESHAWAR: The two-member comprising of Chief Justice Peshawar High Court Justice Qaiser Rashid and Justice Syed Arshad Ali directed Advocate General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to submit report regarding Islamia college lands and record of granting leases, on Tuesday.
Additional Advocate General Syed Sikandar Shah and Islamia College’s lawyer Wasim Khattak Advocate appeared before court in the case.
Vice Chancellor Islamia College informed that PHC that Board of Trusty had granted leases on every lower prices if it will granted on market value the university shall be able to run their business without government assistance.
On informing by VC Islamia College regarding granting lease on law prices, Chief Justice Qaiser Rashid inquired that how are members of Board of Trusty and how had obtained the property?
During hearing Chief Justice Qaiser Rashid remarked that dishonest people like former Vice Chancellors of Islamia College Peshawar were supposed to be in jail.
The Vice Chancellor informed that he took charge in March 2021 and started work for returning of property which was granted on law price price against market value.
The VC further informed that Islamia College has 222 Kanal property in Khyber bazaar, Harichand, Bridge Hari Singh, Charsadda and Swabi. He added that expect four thousand Kannal at Swabi remaining property had been granted on leases in 2001 and 2004 by the Board of Trusty on low prices.
Islamia College’s lawyer Wasim Advocate informed PHC that University of Peshawar has also provided property on Rs,500 per month university road.
Chief Justice Qaiser Rashid remarked that what are doing Vice Chancellor of University of Peshawar and added that he also granting properties on favoritism and nepotism? While directed Advocate General to submit deal report in this regard before court.
