F.P. Report
LAHORE: Lahore is currently shrouded in a thick haze of smog and dust, leading to a surge in eye and throat ailments among its residents.
The air quality in Lahore has deteriorated due to a combination of factors, including pollution, increased dust, and the onset of the smog season.
This has resulted in a rising number of individuals suffering from eye, throat, and respiratory conditions.
Daily commuters, including students going to schools and colleges, are bearing the brunt of this hazardous air quality.
In response to the worsening air quality, the court has issued orders to address the smog and pollution issue, and the traffic police have initiated the issuance of traffic violation tickets for offenders.
Despite these measures, citizens report that vehicles emitting copious amounts of smoke can still be observed on the city’s roads.
The district administration has taken action against those responsible for satellite thermal anomalies, and cases have been filed against individuals engaged in crop residue burning.
Presently, Lahore ranks second on the global list of polluted cities, with an air quality index measuring 184.
