Bahawalpur: Minister of State for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Faisal Karim Kundi inaugurated the Benazir Income Support Program Dynamic Registry Center in Shujaabad.
At this point. Talking to the media representatives, he said that currently more than 8.9 million women are benefiting from the Benazir Kafaalat programme. Taking into account the economic conditions of the people, the Government of Pakistan and Chairman Pakistan People’s Party / Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari have increased the quarterly installment of BISP by 25%. Women receive their full amount and also get a receipt.
He said that the entire world has faith in the Benazir Income Support Program, that’s why its budget has been increased by 40 billion despite the difficult economic conditions.
Talking about the dynamic registry center, he said that four dynamic registry centers have been established in Multan district where 13 counters are working. On which women can get their new survey done and register their economic change.
While at present more than 2 lakh 38 thousand families are being given scholarships under the Benazir Income Support Program in Multan district. Political opponents criticized the BISP programme. However, it has been recognized by the United Nations and other leading international organizations.
The Minister of State also spoke to the beneficiaries who insisted that the number of counters be increased. On receiving the request, he said that soon the number of counters at Shujaabad center will be increased from 2 to 4.
On this occasion, he praised the performance of the staff of Benazir Income Support Program and directed them to serve the people as much as possible.
