Fake Facebook account of Sindh Home Minister exposed

KARACHI : A fake Facebook account operating in the name of Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar has been detected, prompting the provincial government to seek immediate action.

According to official sources, the Sindh Home Department has written a letter to the National Cybercrime Agency, recommending strict proceedings under the Cybercrime Act for creating and operating the fraudulent account.

The letter stated that citizens were being misled through this fake social media presence. It further recommended action under sections 16, 20, and 25 of the Cybercrime Act.

The department has requested that the fake Facebook account be shut down immediately and stern measures be taken against those involved in running it.
