Fake rape case: ATC judge approves three-day physical remand of key accused

LAHORE: Anti-Terrorism Court has extended three-day physical remand of a woman accused who had claimed to be a mother of a college girl on social media who was allegedly raped in a private college of Lahore which later proved to be a fake news.

Police produced the alleged woman Sara Khan in court of ATC admin judge Manzar Ali Gull and prosecution team contended that police have recovered only one mobile of the accused while her second mobile is yet to be recovered from her custody. The ATC judge was further told that voice matching test and photo frametic tests of the accused had been completed.

The prosecution requested the court that police have to recover her second mobile set therefore physical remand of the accused is required.

After hearing the arguments, ATC judge approved three-day physical remand of the accused Sara Khan and ordered police that woman should be interrogated in daylight and before the dusk, accused should be shifted to jail.

Police claimed that woman posted fake news on social media and created unrests on social media accounts. The accused claimed that she was the mother of rape victim. In fact she had not family relation with the said girl. Gulberg police have registered case against the accused. According to FIR, accused spread rumors and created chaos, incitement in the society and fear among female students. Moreover, due to her fake videos, students of colleges staged protest and ransacked the college building.
