Farooq Naek expresses displeasure over Nawaz Sharif’s passport issue

F.P. Report

ISLAMABAD: Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs Chairman Farooq Hamid Naek Thursday raised a question why the passport of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was stopped.

Farooq Hamid Naek, who is also a leader of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), sought explanation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the passport authorities over the issue of Nawaz Sharif’s passport.

“Nawaz Sharif’s passport should not have been stopped under any circumstances,” he said.

“Those who blocked Nawaz Sharif’s passport will be questioned about the illegal action,” he added.

“There are four posts in the country that get diplomatic passports for life along with their families,” he stated.

“Even if Nawaz Sharif was punished, no law can deprive him of his fundamental right,” he emphasised.

“In any case, Nawaz Sharif’s passport should not have been stopped,” he added.

“It is necessary to identify the persons responsible for this,” he stressed.
