PESHAWAR: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Engr. Iqbal Zafar Jhagra said that FATA would be brought into the national mainstream as it is a key to its long-term progress and prosperity.
He added that basic facilities would be provided to tribal people on priority basis.
He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of D-type hospital in F.R Darazanda on Wednesday. Commissioner D.I Khan Division, IGFC Maj. Gen. Abdul Latif, ACS FATA tribal elders and other concerned officials were also present on the occasions.
The Governor said that patriotic tribesmen and security forces have rendered great sacrifices for peace, sovereignty and integrity of the country adding that the time has come to reciprocate their sacrifices and take concrete measures to redress their grievances.
He said concrete measures would be taken on priority basis for the development of health sector, provision of modern health and education facilities to the tribesmen to improve the public health facilities and standards of education in FATA. The Governor also assured the tribal elders to redress their grievances without delay.
IGFC Maj. Gen. Abdul Latif also addressed the jirga and said that expenditure incurred on D-type hospital is 18 crore 46 lac and 29 thousand rupees.
Earlier the Governor planted a tree in the premises of the hospital.
