Fawad claims JUI-F activists freed after ‘contrite’ Maulana sought forgiveness

F.P. Report

ISLAMABAD: Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has said that the administration should not have released the JUI-F activists taunting that the Jamiat ‘goons’ apologized by holding their ears and then squirted their way out.

Special aide to PM Shahbaz Gill also said that JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman kept on ringing all night, extending his apologies and requesting to get his men released.

In his tweet on Friday, Information Minister Fawad Ch wrote: “The goons of Jamiat held their ears and apologized and left (should not have released them). But the incident has once again exposed the sham intellectuals who did not stop supporting the goons in their hate for Imran. Their supporters in the opposition and media are part of a specific mafia group that is working for its own interests.”

Special Assistant to PM on Political Communication Dr Shahbaz Gill said in his tweet: “Fazlur Rehman Sahib kept calling here and there throughout the night, seeking forgiveness and asking for the release of his men in order to save his honor. Then he asked his (detained) men to apologize. All the fever went down in just one night. In principle, the authorities should not have released them. But we do not want to allow them to run away from the political arena on this pretext.”
