Fazl says law enforcement agencies failed to curb menace of terrorism

PESHAWAR: JUI Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that the state was responsible for law and order and for the safety of the lives and property of citizens.

Talking to media in Charsadda, Maulana Fazl law enforcement agencies have failed to protect the lives and property of citizens.

He said for four decades, the menace of terrorism was hitting the country hard and it seemed state institutions look helpless to curb it. He said Pakistan gave befitting reply to India in four hours but the question is being raised why terrorism was not being controlled in the country.

JUI chief claimed that it seemed state institutions were not serious about ending terrorism.

Maulana Fazl said that state institutions were accusing the people of sheltering terrorists. But in fact the people evacuated areas from Swat to Waziristan in a few hours and even today, the people were refugees in their own country. Security institutions are once again asking the people to evacuate the areas.

JUI Chief said the state institutions should not blame the public for their failures. He urged the institutions sto look into their own policies. He said the tone of state institutions is intimidating.

Maulana Fazl urged the government and state institutions to hold talks with Afghanisan and not to intimidate Afghanistan. He said state institutions should talk to the people of KP like Pakistanis.

He made it clear that The people of institutions were not supernatural or above the law.

JUI chief said the establishment alone was responsible for the current situation. Law enforcement agencies were blaming the public to hide their failure.

He said JUI will not give any response to PTI’s bitterness and foul language.

Maulana Fazl said he did not speak of no-confidence in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa against PTI. He suggested that there is a need for change in the province. Maulana Fazl said he wanted change within PTI.

He said the current situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cannot bear political conflict.
