Fazl to address parliament on May 10 to mark Golden Jubilee celebration of Constitution

ISLAMABAD: PDM and JUI Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman will address the parliament on May 10 to mark the conclusion of Golden Jubilee celebrations of Constitution of Pakistan, on Monday.

The concluding ceremony marking the 50th anniversary of the Constitution of Pakistan 1973 will be held on May 10-11 in which prominent personalities of the country will be invited.

Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam Chief Maulana Fazl will deliver a historic and important address to the parliament on May 10.

The concluding ceremony will be held at Parliament House in which speakers will pay tribute to the framers and defenders of the constitution.

The month-long celebrations have been going on since April 10, 2023, with a series of events to commemorate the founding principles of democracy, justice, and equality enshrined in the Constitution.

National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf inaugurated the celebrations by laying the foundation stone of the Constitution Monument at the site approved by the Advisory Committee, opposite Parliamentary Lodges, D-Chowk, Islamabad.

The monument will serve as a permanent reminder of the importance of the Constitution in the nation’s history.

This was followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at the Memorial of the Unsung Heroes of Democracy in the Parliament House, paying homage to those who fought for democracy and constitution in Pakistan.
