FBR freezes Meesha Shafi’s bank accounts

F.P. Report

LAHORE: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has frozen the bank accounts of famous singer and model Misha Shafi, on Friday.

Sources claimed that FBR froze Misha Shafi’s accounts in Faisal Bank branch located in DHA Z Block and the action was taken on the account of not declaring her property that the singer bought in DHA in 2015 as a part of her assets.

It was learnt that the singer was an FBR defaulter of over Rs2.1 million to FBR in terms of income tax and was registered in FBR under the name Meera Parvez Shafi.

However, the FBR tracked her property and levied taxes on it.

So far, FBR has recovered 0.3 million and 28 thousand from Misha Shafi’s accounts.

“Accounts were frozen on the instructions of Commissioner Inland Revenue Jibran Masroor,” added sources.

Meanwhile, the recovery team included Inspector Saqib Khokhar, Mohammad Farooq and SA Two Commissioner Arshad Ali Sheikh.
