FC Balochistan foils terrorism bid in Zhob

RAWALPINDI: The Frontier Corps Balochistan foiled a major terrorism bid in an intelligence-based operation in Zhob.

According to a press release issued by Inter Services Public Relations on Wednesday, the FC personnel traced and neutralised six improvised explosive devices that were planted in N-50 Zhob.

On the other hand, in Sui, the FC troops apprehended an illegal arms dealer, recovering explosives, detonators, weapons and ammunition from his position, stated the press release.

Efforts to restore peace in Balochistan are under way.

On December 9, more than 300 members of different banned outfits, including 17 commanders, surrendered their arms during an event at Balochistan Assembly.

The event was attended by Balochistan Chief Minister Sanaullah Zehri, Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa among other civil, military leaders, where the rebel militants came one-by-one to the stage, handed over their weapon and were given Pakistan’s flag and a flower in return.

Prior to this, on August 18, a Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) commander and 22 other militants surrendered to security forces, an ISPR statement stated.

The militants had surrendered during a ceremony at FC Madadgar Headquarters Quetta.
