FC continues enhancement capabilities of police

MINGORA: In order to enhance the capabilities of Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Swat, Dir & Chitral police, Frontier Corps North initiated the security audit of police installations. The audit focused on identifying loopholes and recommending measures to prevent such incidents.
It included stocktaking of manpower, weapons, equipment & infrastructure of the police, Frontier Constabulary & Levies. On the special instructions of Corps Commander Peshawar and Inspector General Frontier Corps North, visits and interactions by the security officials with police were conducted to reduce communication gaps and boost the morale. Joint visits were carried out with police officials to posts, checkposts and nakkas to identify loopholes.
Trainings are given to the police including wearing helmets during duty, checking procedures at checkposts and conducting day & night firing practices to enhance police performance.
A plan was formulated to establish self-sustainable, fire and rocket-proof police posts with CCTV cameras for continuous surveillance, featuring shell and bullet-proof RCC buildings, bullet-proof doors, solar panels, electricity facility, TV screens and other basic facilities.
Provision of equipment to police and CTD is continue including helmets, bullet-proof jackets, CCTV cameras, metal detectors & alarm systems. Rupees 33.7 million were allocated for the uplift and repair of police posts, police stations, checkposts and CTD buildings, as well as provision of jammers, surveillance cameras, and quadcopters in various districts.
In 2023, Rupees 1690 million are being spent to enhance surveillance, night fighting capabilities and force protection of police in Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Swat, Dir and Chitral.
Under a comprehensive plan, uplifting of posts, provision of cameras, other equipment & training of police personnel is continue.
So far, 6367 police personnel have been trained in Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Swat, Dir & Chitral with 46 posts/checkposts uplifted and 16 in progress.
