MUMBAI: Television queen and filmmaker, Ekta Kapoor welcomed her first child, son Ravie Kapoor today. Daughter to veteran actor Jeetendra and producer Shobha Kapoor, Ekta announced the same in an official statement which said, “By God’s grace, I have seen many successes in my life, but nothing beats the feeling of this beautiful soul being added in my world.

I cannot even begin to express how happy my baby’s birth has made me. Everything in life doesn’t go the way you want it to but there are always solutions to those hiccups. I found mine and today I feel immensely blessed to become a parent. It is an emotional moment for me and my family and I can’t wait to begin this new journey of being a mother.”

Ekta’s doctor even shared that the filmmaker cum producer tried other methods before opting for surrogacy. She said, “Ekta Kapoor came to me some years back to become a mother. We tried to help her get pregnant with multiple cycles of IUI and also multiple cycles of IVF. But we were unsuccessful. Hence we had to take help of the technique of surrogacy, which we performed nine months back at our Bloom IVF centre. Nine months later she had achieved success with the birth of a child on Sunday.”

Ekta’s brother and actor Tusshar Kapoor also chose to be a single parent via surrogacy and welcomed his son Laksshya Kapoor back in 2016. Tusshar had then told a news portal, “Initially, my parents were a little bit apprehensive whether I should announce the child to be one born through IVF and surrogacy or not. Everybody in the country has been very accepting. That was a bit surprise for me because I thought there would be diverse views, some kind of ‘oohs and ahas’ about it, all kinds of opinion. But nothing of that sort happened. Especially, the media has been so supportive of Laksshya and my choice of having a family in this manner.”

Looks like it’s truly a happy time for the Kapoors, considering Ekta’s little one and Laksshya will be bonding majorly.
