Finance Minister Miftah says country will ‘absolutely not’ default

NEW YORK: Finance Minister Miftah Ismail on Friday stated that the country will not default at all and the dollar rate will automatically come down in a few days.

Talking to local news channel in New York, Miftah Ismail refuted the surfing fear of country’s default, he quoted that the increase in the perception of Pakistan’s default has led to a rise in the value of dollar.

Miftah also mentioned to have met with the International Monetary Fund Managing Director (IMF MD) on post-flood situation.

He said, “They understood our point and almost agreed. The new terms will be formally discussed at a meeting next month.”
