Finance Minister vows to bring country out of economic crisis

F.P. Report

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to bring the country out of economic crisis and put it back on track of development and prosperity.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad, he categorically rejected the speculative reports regarding cancellation of his official visit to the United States and participation in the meetings of the IMF and World Bank.

The Finance Minister said the main reason behind cancellation of his visit to the United States for the annual and spring meetings of IMF and World Bank was the prevailing political and constitutional situation in the country.

He said he is attending virtual review meetings, where a team of senior officials concerned are attending the mandatory sessions as per schedule, in complete coordination with him.

The minister said Pakistan fulfills all its international commitments, despite tough economic conditions.
