FIR registered against constable for attacking DIG in Lahore

LAHORE: An FIR has been registered against constable for attacking Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in Lahore last night.

According to details, DIG Shahzad Aslam was walking back to his home in police lines colony, when a constable named Muhammad Rafique attacked him with a knife.

FIR reported that constable attacked DIG multiple times with a knife as a result of which he suffered serious injuries.

Later, the constable was locked up with the assistance of security guards. FIR has been registered under section 324 signifying attempt to murder.

Police has arrested the accused and an investigation is underway to know the reason behind his attack.

On the other hand, the DIG has been discharged from hospital after being provided with medical treatment.
