First time in 25 year of Sindh history, no cut motion submitted on budget

F.P. Report

KARACHI: Provincial Ministers Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Saeed Ghani and Nawab Taimur Talpur have said that they were grateful to incompetent opposition who did not obstruct the process of budget approval and added that first time in 25 year of Sindh Assembly history, no cut motion was submitted on budget.
They said that when the Speaker presented the budget for voting in the house, no one opposed it. This means that the budget was passed with consensus and consultation.
They expressed these views while talking to media at Media Corner in Sindh Assembly after approval of budget for the year 2021-22
On the occasion, Sindh Information Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that they were not in haste to pass budget as PPP have clear majority in the house.
‘The Pakistan Peoples Party has defeated opposition strategy with better counter strategy, ‘ he said and added that the seriousness of the opposition could be gauged from the fact that it did not presented any cut motion on the budget but only made uproar and noise in the house to disrupt its proceedings.
He said that infront of media , opposition talked about constitution and rule of law. The minister said that their (opposition) leadership must sought explaination from them that why they failed to submit any cut motion on budget . ‘ Sindh was the only assembly where the opposition do not follow the usual procedure and only kept making noise,’ he added.
He said that those who were making claims of Karachi have no mandate from three out of seven districts of Karachi. He said that Rs. 991 billion schemes were underway in Karachi, while Rs. 90 billion has been earmarked in current year budget. Provincial Minister for Education and Labor Saeed Ghani said that he wanted to thank the incompetent opposition, who did not obstruct the approval of the budget from the Sindh Assembly but supported us.
He said that it was historic day today the budget was passed easily. He said that instead of blaming us, the opposition should look inside itself to see how was coordination between PTI, MQM and other opposition parties. He was of view that budget session provide an opportunity to opposition members to speak on the budget of any department and raise the issues of their respective constituencies, which they missed.
Provincial Minister Saeed Ghani said that the leader of the opposition today tried to give the impression that the MQM have played with them. In yesterday’s protest, Haleem Adil Sheikh staged a sit-in on the floor with the MQM and continued to protest with them. He said that it was internal matter of opposition parties and they themselves should decide who deciept and played with whom?
