Five die, four injured in separate road accidents

ABBOTTABAD: At least five people died and four others injured in four different road accidents in Hazara division. Police said in first incident, three-person died when a truck fell into river Indus at Matta Banda Lower Kohistan while coming from Gilgit. Police and local rescuers have started search operation to find the bodies of the three people.

In another road accident an over speeding car No. 730 hit a labor Muhammad Haneef, resident of Baila Akbar Khan who was coming from duty along with his son and others at Mansehra. The labor died at the spot whereas three others including his son Tafseer, Qasir and Mubarak were injured. Mansehra police have registered a case against the car driver and handed over the body to the family after postmortem.

In another road accident, a passenger jeep fell into a several hundred feet deep ravine when the driver lost control over the vehicle at Mochi Dhaba Galyat where a passenger Noman Rasheed resident of Khan Kalan died at the spot and driver got critical injuries. The jeep No. 1360 was going to Jaswara village from Abbottabad.

According to the police, critically injured driver Safeer was shifted to district headquarters hospital Abbottabad and Donga Gali police have registered a case.
