Five of a family killed, 3 injured in road accident

SWABI: Five people of a family who were killed in a fateful road incident near Topi police station at night were laid to rest and the three injured children have been admitted in Bacha Khan medical complex Shahmasoor here on Wednesday.

The family belongs to Kotha village of Tehsil Topi and they had hardly travelled two kilometers from their residence when confronted the ill-fated incident at Topi bypass at night. Announcements were made on loudspeakers extracting the dead bodies and people and police reached there within no time.

Officials in police and victim family said that the family was on way to Islamabad airport and one of them identified as Muhammad Bilal had to catch a flight to United Arabs Emirates and the family left for airport. When their car, bearing registration No. LEA 6711 reached near Batakara Chowk, a dumper (LES-1872) coming from opposite first hit the car and then overturned and the car came under it, killing the five people.

In the killed people the oversea employee Bilal, his brother Muhammad Illyas, two cousins, Sadaqat Ali and Liaqat Ali and Bilal’s brother-in-law Muhammad Irshad were included. They were killed on the spot. The three injured children were: Abdullah, Muhammad Wasif and Muhammad Huzaifa were injured. The dead were laid to rest in their ancestral graveyard in Kotha village. People belong to all walks of life participated in the funeral.
