Five ISIS sympathizers killed in Nangarhar

JALALABAD: At least five sympathizers of the Islamic State terror group were killed during a clash with the Special Forces of the Afghan Intelligence in eastern Nangarhar province.

Provincial governor’s spokesman Ataullah Khogyani said the Special Forces of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) conducted an operation in Momandara district of Nangarhar late on Wednesday night.

Khogyani further added that the NDS Special Forces were looking to arrest a group of ISIS sympathizers when they came under fire during the operation.

According to Khogyani, at least five ISIS sympathizers were killed during the clash and some of their weapons and munitions were destroyed. The anti-government armed militants including ISIS loyalists have not commented regarding the operation so far. (Khaama Press)
