Five martyred, 8 injured in Sukkur cement factory blast

SUKKUR (INP): At least five people including security personnel were martyred and eight others injured in a blast while defusing explosives at a cement factory in Sukkur on Tuesday.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Sukkur, Feroze Shah said that the explosion took place when the security personnel were engaged in defusing the explosives at a cement factory in Sukkur.

The blast resulted in death of five people including two cops, Rangers official and two labourers. Eight including six Rangers personnel, manager of the factory and a labourers were injured the blast.

Heavy contingents of police arrived at the venue in the aftermath of the incident and started rescue operation. The injured were shifted to hospital.

Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah has taken notice of the matter and demanded a report on the incident.

The Chief Minister has demanded to know complete details of the incident, including where and how the explosives were placed inside the factory and who brought them there.
