Five million houses to give impetus to economy, employment: PM Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday expressed optimism that the project for the construction of five million houses will give impetus to the economy, besides the provision of the jobs to the youth.

PM Khan said this while chairing a meeting to review Naya Pakistan Housing Programme in Islamabad.

Finance Minister Asad Umar, Senior Punjab Minister Abdul Aleem Khan, Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Political Affairs Naeemul Haque, Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Media Iftikhar Durrani and State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Governor Tariq Bajwa were also present on this occasion.

Prime Minister Imran Khan directed to provide all possible facilities to low income people for their dream of owning a house to be realised.

He also asked for completion of the laws relating to foreclosure and Real Estate Regulatory Authority.

The meeting dilated upon the matters relating to arranging of finance from the commercial banks for the people having low income.

It was decided that the Finance Ministry and the State Bank of Pakistan will give incentives to private banks for housing finance.

The forum decided that low income people would be able to get easy loans from the banks. “They will be able to get benefit from the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme.”

On this occasion, Premier Khan said the government would make possible for the low income people to get a house.
