Flood-battered Karakoram Highway restored for traffic

ISLAMABAD: The administration has started opening the flood-battered Karakoram Highway as Thakot road going towards Khiyal Bridge has been restored for traffic from both sides, on Saturday.

The traffic police has opened the bridge for 6-wheeler truck and light weight vehicles. Apart from this, Zaid Khwar Bridge has also been restored for light traffic.

The Ochhar nullah has been opened for all kinds of traffic from both sides. Samar nullah too has been restored for every kind of traffic.

According to the National Highway Authority, the thoroughfare from Sazin to Khanjrab has been clear for all kind of traffic.

However, the Frontier Works Organization warned the motorists to remain vigilant while doing overtaking on bridges as the FWO teams are busy carrying out repair work on the Karakoram Highway.
