Flour, sugar prices down in Kabul markets

KABUL (Pajhwok): The prices of Kazakhi flour and Indian sugar had declined while Arabic gold rate surged and Afghani depreciated against dollar in Kabul markets during the outgoing week.
Zmarai Safi, head of the Food Traders Association in Kabul, said the price of 49-kilogram of India sugar declined from 3,000 afs to 2,900 afs while the rate of 49-kilogram of Kazakh flour declined from 2,150 to 2,100 afs.
He added the rates of some items remained unchanged such as 24.5-kilogram of Pakistani rice 3,000 afs, 16-litre of Malysian cooking oil 1,800 as, one kilogram of black Arican tea 400 afs and one kilogram of green Indonesian tea 350 afs.
Hamid Sufizada, one of the retailers at Dahni Bagh Market, said the retail price of 49-kilogram of Khazakh flour was 2,150 afs, 24 kilogram of Pakistani rice 3,050, 49 kilogram of Indian sugar 2,950 afs, 16-litre of Malysian cooking oil 1,850 afs, one kilogram of black African team 450 afs and the same quantity of green Indonesian team 400 afs.
Gold price
Mohammad Fawad, the owner of Haji Mohammad Salehzada Jewlary shop, said the price of one gram of Arabic gold Ayaar 750 surge from 3,450 to 4,400 afs.
He said the price of one gram of Russian gold Ayaar 585 was 3,450 afs same as last week.
Fuel rates
An employee of the Ahmadyar Group Petrol Station said the price of one litre of petrol was 73 afs while one litre of diesel accounted for 93 afs.
Mohammad Sharif, one of the gas seller, said the price of one kilogram of gas was 64 afs same as last week.
Currency rates
Haji Hussain, the owner of Sadaqat Money Changer, said that one US dollar was accounted for 90.10 afs whiel 1,000 Pakistani rupee accounted for 360 afs.
Last week one US dollar was accounted for 89 afs while 1,000 Pakistani rupees accounted for 340 afs.
