Foreign security expert in Karachi to discuss arrangements for PSL matches

KARACHI (PPI): A security consultant who works with ICC, FICA and various international cricket boards has arrived in Karachi to discuss security arrangements in the city for proposed PSL matches next year.

Reg Dickason of Eastern Star International, a security firm that advises security on ICC, FICA and various boards, was received in Karachi by Pakistan Cricket Board’s head of security Col Azam.

He was roped in by the PCB in an attempt to regain world’s confidence in security arrangements in Pakistan. He was also involved in security arrangements for World XI team’s recent visit to Lahore.

The security consultant has a law enforcement background spanning in excess of 16 years, during which he worked predominantly in specialist criminal investigation units and national task forces targeting organised crime.

Following his police career, Dickason established companies which provided close protection to diplomats, politicians, international sporting teams and high-net worth individuals globally.

He has been contracted as a security consultant and advisor for numerous international sporting events since 1996 and has managed international teams as well.

Dickason didn’t speak to media at the arrival. He is scheduled to visit Karachi’s National Stadium, which will be followed by his meeting with IG Sindh and CM Murad Ali Shah later in the day.

The PCB last week announced that it is aiming to hold two to four matches of next PSL season in Karachi.
