Forest fire continues in Upper Dir for second day

UPPER DIR: The forest of Usheri area of Upper Dir, district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa continue to be engulfed in flames on the second consecutive day and it destroyed hundreds of trees and wood in the last 24 hours.

Police told that local people levies and police officials trying to put end on the fire which was started to engulf the thick forest yesterday, however the authorities have failed to control the fire due to its scale.

Hundreds of pine trees and tree houses were burnt and hundreds feet of wood destroyed because of continuous fire in the area.

Police said that fire continues to grow, posing a threat to the wildlife and local population.
