LAHORE: Former ICC umpire Asad Rauf passed away in Lahore, on Wednesday.
His brother Tahir confirmed the death of Asad Rauf.
Asad Rauf was going home after closing his shop when he had cardiac arrest, leaving him dead, he said.
Asad Rauf was a member of the ICC Elite Umpire Panel from 2006 to 2013.
He played in Pakistani domestic cricket between 1977 and 1991.
He became a first-class umpire in 1998 and the Pakistan Cricket Board appointed him in 2000.
Rauf was included in the International Panel of Umpires in 2004 and a year later the ICC appointed him to his first test match.
He was promoted to the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Umpires in 2006. He umpired in 47 Tests, 98 ODIs and 23 Twenty20s.
